Operations Performance Indexes

Operations Management has partnered with the Basis Point Group to present the following data on operations performance. Developed by BPG, the below indexes offer a glimpse at market performance as a benchmark for your own comparisons.

The charts contain Benchmark Indexes created by Basis Point Group (BPG), utilizing information from the U.S. Federal Reserve and other market sources. The securities market value covered by these indexes exceeds $ 20 trillion.

These indexes measure changes in both operational stability and risk. The stability of each market is affected by the operational effectiveness of every firm that participates. Changes in the index measure increases or decreases in Unrealized Risk®, a critical gauge of operational stability.

Derived using a proprietary performance and risk assessment methodology (OPERA®), the indexes are designed to serve as benchmarks to measure the effect of market performance on the internal operations of each firm.

The performance of Individual operations is driven by organization, system and process design; by interaction with other parties; and by the overall operational stability of the markets in which they participate. These indexes measure market stability.

Basis Point Group's OPERA® database, containing over 13 years and data on six million events from more than 50 firms, allows BPG to derive a comprehensive Operations Benchmark Performance Scale for comparison to process, firm and market operating performance. These Indexes and the Benchmark Performance Scale provide a comprehensive base that allows firms to compare their internal operations performance with peers, service providers and other fiduciaries.
